Allen records shutout as Chicago earns split in St. Louis

The U-16 Fire Academy bounced back from a loss on Saturday to earn a split on its St. Louis road trip over the weekend.
Playing against the two St. Louis Scott Gallagher squads, the Fire beat Metro 1-0 in Sunday's match in Fenton, Missouri.
Patryk Ruta highlighted his first match for Chicago by getting a goal in the 50th minute to account for the lone score.
Zak Allen collected his first shutout to help the Fire (6-3-1, 19) win the Central Conference Frontier Division match.
Earning starts for Chicago during both matched were Keaton Albert, Peter Beasley, Victor Pineda and Anthony Torres.
Elliot Borge, Drew Conner, Lalo Cuautle, Luis Medina and Manny Rios also joined Allen and Ruta in Sunday's starting 11.
Luis Barajas and David Caban both entered in the first half on Sunday after also earning starts the day before.
In Saturday's match, Missouri received goals in the 10th and 14th minutes to capture a 2-0 victory over the Fire.
Henrik Egly, Sam Euler, Matt Payne, Mitch Reavis and Henok Russell were Chicago's other starters on Saturday.
Chidozie Nwagbara, Luis Medina and Cuautle all entered the match shortly after the Fire fell behind a 2-0 score.
The Fire will be back on the road next Saturday when they try to avenge a 1-0 loss to the Kansas City Wizards.
Chicago will meet Kansas City at 4 p.m., shortly before the clubs' first teams meet at Community America Ballpark.
